Look what we found under the tub

On friday i sent Mike a text message saying i heard kitten(s) while i was in the downstairs bathroom. We knew there was a cat living under the house and she probably had kittens. Well Mike & Patrick were under the house this afternoon capping off the lines in the bathroom so we can gut it and they saw and heard nothing. Mike was brushing his teeth to go to bed and heard them. He comes upstairs and says i need to go under the house. So he goes under the house and i stay in the area that will be the pantry. (he hasn't replaced the floor. i have the big work light of his poking through the floor and he is under with the flash light. It was a game of turn on the light hear nothing or turn off the light, see nothing but hear them. So Mike hears them up in the floor around the tub. He looks in a hole and sure enough he sees 1 maybe 2. I go in the bathroom because i plan on tearing it apart tomorrow anyways. I break the wall down and what do i get but 2 baby kittens. We think they are about 2 weeks old. Mike and i ran to walmart (45 min drive there and back)to get 2 little bottles and formula for them. They are settling in for a while in a basket next to our bed. i should get some sleep since they will be up to fed in a few hours.

update on the washer...

The repair guy is supposed to be here between 1 and 5. I said he would get here at 4:45. i was wrong it was almost 5:30. So he starts looking at the new washer and figures it needs a new lid switch and a computer. Then tells me it would be at least 2 weeks. Then asked what was wrong with the old one. He also looked it over and asked what it was doing. So i explained it and he said we should replace the lid switch (lol). So Mike & i returned the 2nd new washer and bought the new part which was under $30. It hasn't been installed yet as we were both working in the new kitchen area.

I'll get some new pictures tomorrow when Patrick gets home with his camera.

Could i please have a washer that works

So our old washer decided to start acting up. If i wanted to do a load of laundry i would have to stand there because it wasn't spinning. So i drove to vabch to look at washers. I went to East coast appliances and Sears outlet. We decided to get a digital top loader. (i wont say the brand name because Mike told the service people it was crap) We got it home and hooked it up and it didn't work. It would fill but not wash. We tried a few different times. So i decided to return it. I didn't see a whole lot there that i like but ended up buying a brand we like and have had before.
We got it home and Mike hooked it up. Guess what? It doesn't work either. So we have a service guy coming all the way to our house. I need a washer with 6 people and 3 dogs.

i just wanted to say...

Happy Anniversary!!!

It's been awhile

since my last entry. A lot has happened. Besides the digital camera died so did our washer. 6 people and no washer is not a good thing.

I also have been collecting furniture. Mike has told me no more til we get further along in the restoration of the house. I'm working on getting the kids beds. So far i got Marissa a black queen canapy bed, Brandon a metal black queen (it's green and i'm going to paint it black) and Mike and I a large wood 4 poster bed. Isabelle & Patrick want bunk beds so they will get the 2 we have.

Mike has been working in the kitchen area. Replacing the floor joists and knocking down the chimney that was attached to the original chimney. He is hoping to get the subflooring in soon.

I also have some good news. We rescued another dog. His name is Casey and he is a black and white chihuahua.

Under the stairs closet

Ok lets hope ya'll understand me. I decided to open the 2 closets under the stairs to make 1 huge closet. The first picture it's the door on the right (apt a). The second picture it's the part on the right that jets out. (apt b). We didn't take any pictures before inside the closets so this is the best i have. The area farthest in the last pictures had so much crap in them. Mike & I are going to Lowe's in a bit (date night) and getting some shelves and pole for coats. We are also getting a closet pole for our closet.I got a picture of Mike inside cleaning it.
