The camera broke...

When i was outside filming Mike take the roof off the upper back porch the camera just broke. :( I did get our son to film mike taking the roof off . so here is the link

Mike worked on the roof most of the weekend. I'll get pictures up when i find the old camera. Sunday I tore out the walls in the downstairs closet. It was under the stairs so it's really big. But way back under the stairs was full of crap. But mike did find a circular saw lol.

The ceiling comes down

I finally got to the living room ceiling. All the tiles that were up there need to come down. Most of them were falling down and were being held up with screws and washers. It was not pretty. Notice the beautiful light fixture. That came down too. We already bought a new one to go in there.
If ya'll were wondering why we are demo'ing everything and not building much yet is because we have a huge dumpster in our yard. It's been here for 3 weeks and gets picked up this friday. So we need to get as much demo'ing done before they come to pick it up.

The weekend (saturday)

Saturday Mike put the windows in our room. All i can say is wow the difference in the temperture of the room in the morning. I'm used to being woke up by the sun shining in my face and the heat was soo hot. Now Brandon has 1 window , isabelle has 1 window and marissa has 1 window.

The weekend(sunday)

I will start off with sunday. We decided to work outside since it's wasn't so hot. We worked on taking down the side porch. I didn't think it would take all day. Boy was i wrong. The first picture is before we bought the house. The second is isabelle and brandon wanting to help so bad. The third is mike holding the fish head that was under the porch. The fourth is me using the saw. The last one is the mess we made...lol

This is the upstairs hallway between the 2 front doors. I took the dry wall down and Mike took the studs out.

Mike replaced the window in Isabelle's room this morning and I worked on patching the holes in the plaster.The hole next to the light switch was huge. Now i just have to sand and paint.

So after we took out the wall in the upstairs hallway we decided to bring the french door upstairs to see how that will look. We are planning on using it for the master suite. The way thing are layed out (weight bearing walls & hall ways) the door will have to be on an angle. (which it will be so cool lol)

Then we got to work on both upstairs bathrooms. I got the bathroom that mike stripped the bathtub, toilet and sink out last weekend. (the video of the tub is from this bathroom) So what i got to do was strip the walls. I found a cool ring.

So the first picture is Marissa & Isabelle holding the french door. The second picture is Mike in his bathroom (grandma suite) before he got to much done. The third picture is my bathroom(the master suite) before i got in there but after Mike stripped it. The fourth picture is my bathroom taken from inside Mike's bathroom. The upstairs wall comes down for good

So we decided to take down the rest of the wall board and studs in the upstairs hall way. The kids got up early (for them in the summer) and they managed to work for about 2 hours. First Mike got the water heater out (Check out the video).Then he got the bath tub out (check out the video)He let them fall off the back deck. We got all the closets, dry wall and studs out. It's a nice big area without the wall separating the hall way. I'm planning on making it the upstairs TV area.

So much going on at once

As i sit here and type this I am waiting for the upstairs windows to be delivered. YEAH!!! I got a call from Mike alittle after 7 that Lowe's had called him and said they were on their way.
So last saturday while Mike was out working on removing the roof to the upper porch i was cleaning out what will be the kitchen. There aren't any pictures of me working because i think no one else knows how to use it..lol As i was sweeping up the plaster and picking up the wood lathes i found something in the wall between the fire places. It was a book on an artificial limbs company. And the last copy write date was 1921. That was a very cool discovery.
Last Tues Mike and I were walking around the house with the dogs and kids when someone pulled up out front. An older gentleman that Mike had talked to at the last Lion's club meeting typed up some information on the hotel/apts. We need to research but taking the time to go to the Cortland court house during business hours is not possible yet.
On monday night Mike decided to start where i left off in the kitchen area. I had pulled up a few floor boards before i found the book. Mike let Patrick & Isabelle to help him. He got so much done.

When Mike was taking the gutter off the back of the house over the weekend i got the bright idea to video tape him. The quality isn't the best but ya get the idea. Yes that is me laughing and yes i know i sound like a chicken..lol

On sunday Mike took the kids to the town cook out and I went to the Poisin/Ratt concert in vabch with my sisters and brother inlaw.
